## Can Ideogram 4.5 put readable text in an image?

In our three runs with words, yes. A poster title and its smaller line, a two-line tin label, and a rewritten poster line all came out spelled as quoted. The model also invented text: the poster gained “RIVERSIDE PLAZA” and “NOODLES · SKEWERS · TEA”. The label prompt ended with “No other text” and came back with none. Three pictures is a small sample.

- **Pictures with words:** 3
- **Quoted lines spelled right:** 5 of 5
- **Unrequested lines added:** 2, on one poster

## Text we asked for, and what came back

Made through [fal.ai](https://fal.ai) on October 10, 2026. The label ran at high quality ($0.22 at the API, 55 credits here); the poster and its edit at medium ($0.06, 15 credits).

### Tea tin with a two-line label
**Requested:** A tea tin labelled “JASMINE GREEN” and “Loose leaf · 100 g”, with no other text. **Observed:** Both lines are spelled as quoted and no extra text appears, at high quality. **Limitation:** Two loose tea leaves beside the tin were not requested.
- Prompt: Product photograph of an unbranded square tea tin on a pale wooden table. The label reads "JASMINE GREEN" in large serif capitals, with a smaller line "Loose leaf · 100 g" underneath, dark green ink on a cream label. Soft daylight. No other text, no logos.
- Settings: text to image, 1:1, high, 1024×1024
- Generated: 2026-10-10 (provider request 01a12622-2b22-7d01-8395-c6920173e032), took 12 s, provider cost $0.22

### Night market poster with lettering
**Requested:** A three-colour poster reading “NIGHT MARKET” and “Every Friday 6 pm”. **Observed:** Both lines are spelled as quoted, with paper grain. **Limitation:** The model added “RIVERSIDE PLAZA” and “NOODLES · SKEWERS · TEA” without being asked.
- Prompt: Screen-printed poster for a fictional event. Large hand-lettered title reading "NIGHT MARKET" and a smaller line reading "Every Friday 6 pm". Flat illustration of paper lanterns and food stalls in three colours: deep blue, warm red and cream. Visible paper grain.
- Settings: text to image, 3:4, medium, 864×1152
- Generated: 2026-10-10 (provider request 01a12620-77c7-78f2-bd32-5f26ab59a30b), took 17 s, provider cost $0.06

### Poster line changed to Saturday 7 pm
**Requested:** Change the date line to “Every Saturday 7 pm” while preserving the design. **Observed:** The wording changed in the same lettering; the title and illustration look similar. **Limitation:** The result is not pixel-identical. Our JPEG comparison measured an average difference of 3.25 out of 255; inspect the editing guide for the method and limits.
- Prompt: Change the smaller line to read "Every Saturday 7 pm". Keep the title, the lettering style, the illustration, the colours and the paper grain exactly as they are.
- Settings: image to image, 3:4, medium, 864×1152

## Check the words before you use the design

1. **Quote the exact lines** Write the headline and each smaller line in quotation marks. Include dates, punctuation and capitalisation as they should appear.
2. **Check for extra copy** Inspect the whole design. Our poster added a location and a food list that the prompt did not request, even though its quoted lines were correct.
3. **Inspect at the intended size** Read the smallest line at the size you plan to post or print. We tested short English lines only, not paragraphs or multilingual layouts.
4. **Edit or start again** For a one-line correction, upload the result in the [image editor](https://ideogram45.online/ideogram-4-5-image-editing). Every new run has its own credit cost; this site does not provide automatic text checking or editable text layers.

## Questions about text

### How do I stop the model adding its own text?

Say “No other text”. The one prompt that said so came back clean; the one that did not gained two lines. That is one run each, so treat it as a tip, not a rule.

### Can it change text that is already in a picture?

In one run it rewrote “Every Friday 6 pm” as “Every Saturday 7 pm” in the same lettering. The surrounding poster looked similar but was not pixel-identical. Inspect the source and the measured changes in the [editing guide](https://ideogram45.online/ideogram-4-5-image-editing).

### Does it handle small text?

The smallest text we ran is the second line of the tin label, which was readable at 1,024 × 1,024. We have not tested paragraphs or very small type.

### Does it work in other languages?

We ran English only, so we cannot say.
